Ambient Display is basically an active display which makes your Device Display to glow up whenever there is any new notification rather it be from WhatsApp, Gmail or any Missed Call.

At the time of launch of this feature there were lots and lots of discussion going on over the Ambient Display, that will it be launched to every Lollipop Device or will it be limited to Nexus 6 similarly as in the case of Moto X devices. The answer we got wasn’t pleasing as this feature was limited to Nexus 6 and wasn’t bundled in the Factory Image of Lollipop. But not to worry now as a XDA Developer DVDandroid just found out the method of getting Ambient Display without much of the hustle and today we are gonna discuss about how to get ambient display on any Android.

Get Ambient Display On Any Android

First of all to Enable or get Ambient Display feature on your device you must be running Android Lollipop 5.0.0+ and your device must be rooted. You also need to download and install Xposed Framework alpha 1 on your device and then you have to download the MODULE which will further enable Ambient Display on your device.

  • A Rooted Android Device Running on Android Lollipop 5.0.0+.
  • Xposed Installer 3.0 alpha1.
  • Active Internet Connection.

How To Get Ambient Display On Any Android

  • Download and Install Xposed Framework alpha1.
  • Open Xposed Framework alpha1 and grant SuperUser permission.
  • Download Ambient Display Module from Xposed Framework alpha1 app.
  • Enable the Ambient Display Module from the Xposed Framework alpha1 settings.
  • Restart your device.
  • You now have successfully activated Ambient Display on your device.

Note : Using this feature can cause a battery drain.
