Method 1 : Clear cache memory

If the cache memory of your device is full then this error may occur. Here is How to clear cache memory of your device:

  • Clear Cache Memory On Android 2.3 & Below
  1. Go To Settings>>Applications>>Manage Applications>>Click On Google Play Store>>Clear Data & Clear Cache.
  2. In Manage Applications Menu>>Click On Google Play Services>>Clear Data & Clear Cache.
  • Clear Cache Memory On Android 4.0+
  1. Go To Settings>>In Device Menu Select Apps>>Click On Google Play Store>>Clear Data & Clear Cache.
  2. In Apps option>>Click On Google Play Services>>Clear Data & Clear Cache.

Method 2 : Reset your app Preferences

You can change your app Preference to resolve/fix the Google Play Store Error 492. To Reset App Preferences follow the following steps:

  • Go to Settings>>In Device , Select Apps>>Click On Menu >>Reset App Preferences.

Method 3 : Update Google Play Store

This is the best technique to fix any error . If you have updated Google Play Store version then most of the errors will be fixed automatically. You can check for your Google Play Store version from Settings>>Apps>>All>>Google Play Store and if it is not the latest one then you can manually update Google Play Store from ApkMirror . To manually update Google Play Store or any other App you have to revoke some security settings to do so go to Settings>>Security>>Unknown Sources ( Turn It On ). Once you allow the  installation of Apps from Unknown Sources you can update your Google Play Store by simply going into your File Manager and tapping on the Google Play Store Downloaded file you just downloaded from ApkMirror. After updating Google Play Store Restart your device and then update any App which previously showed the Google Play Store Error 492.
